April & Harry: A Christmas Surprise Wedding

I ended my 2010 year with April’s and Harry’s Christmas-themed wedding, and what a way to end the year!  April and Harry are a beautiful match, full of joy and immense love for each other.  This was a unique wedding… simply because April and Harry decided to surprise their friends and family with a wedding.  Under the guise of an engagement party, their loved ones filtered into their beautiful decorated home to celebrate the holiday season and April’s and Harry’s engagement.  My wonderful partner in crime, Diana Matthews of Creative Moments Photography, and I were quietly photographing the moments leading up to the announcement and ceremony, pretending that we were hired to document just the party itself.  When April and Harry disappeared to change into their wedding attire, it didn’t take long for people to notice they were gone.  The announcement came with a sudden burst of silence before the backyard erupted with cheers and joyful screams and tears of pure excitement.  By the time the announcement was over, the guests turned to see April and Harry near their pool, beautifully lit by floating candles.  The ceremony was short and sweet, and there were tears in everyone’s eyes.  I doubt anyone really felt the cold temperature, the rush of excitement and absolute joy of love warmed the air so quickly.
